Economics & Statistics report, single market & circular economy recommendations
June 2024
In this issue: Our newly released Spring Economics and Statistics report, key
recommendations on the single market and the circular economy and more.

Welcome back to our newsletter,

We are at a pivotal moment for the EU, with elections starting in just a few days. 373 million voters will be eligible to choose 720 MEPs who, alongside national politicians and the European Commission, will shape the future of Europe. Read Orgalim’s agenda for a European high-tech manufacturing base to see our political priorities for the next five years.

In the run up to the elections, our Spring Economics and Statistics report shows that the outlook for our industries in 2024 remains negative. Improving the framework conditions in which our industries operate will be critical to generate new growth and competitiveness. We are setting out detailed recommendations, including for the Single Market and the Circular Economy, with more to follow.

Read on for all our news and upcoming events.

Highlights of the month
The outlook is negative for Europe’s technology industries in 2024, although there may be some glimmers of hope towards the end of the year. Orgalim’s Economics and Statistics report offers a thorough examination of the current situation.
Since it began 30 years ago, the single market has helped turn the EU into the world’s largest trading bloc and contributed to the region’s economy. However, complex regulatory frameworks threaten to undermine the strength of the single market.
There's great potential in the circular economy; it makes sense from environmental, competitiveness, business continuity, job creation and local added value perspectives.
