April 2024

Welcome back to our newsletter.

As spring blooms in Brussels, signalling brighter - and hopefully warmer - days ahead, EU activity remains vibrant. The Trade and Technology Council (TTC) meeting is currently underway. In collaboration with the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), we've issued a joint statement urging the EU and the U.S. to promptly conclude an agreement on conformity assessment.

Also in this edition, we explore the conclusions of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and Digital Product Passports (DPPs) webinar, and comment on the European Parliament's adoption of the landmark EU regulation on Artificial Intelligence.

Read on to discover these updates and more and remember to mark your calendars for upcoming Orgalim events.

Highlights of the month
Looking at the upcoming Trade and Technology Council (TTC) meeting on 4-5 April 2024, we call on both sides to conclude an agreement on conformity assessment as soon as possible.
Last month, we hosted a webinar to delve into a key European initiative aimed at improving the environmental sustainability of products: the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and Digital Product Passports (DPPs).
The European Parliament adopted the landmark EU regulation on Artificial Intelligence. Orgalim supports the regulation’s overall objectives of promoting AI that is respectful of fundamental rights, safety and transparency.
